Family Pictures

All employees of Western Pest Control were able to have family pictures done. Michael Ebert was hired and he did a great job. We took a lot of pictures, but we liked these the best.

Saying goodbye to Washington

Ode to 1197 E. Oak Wood Ln.
After six and a half years at our current home we are going to be leaving. We close on our new house at 11 oclock tomorrow. I haven't allow myself to believe it was going to happen, so now that it has I am a little shocked. At times I think about cool new things in our new home, like having the kids play downstairs, painting, landscaping or the massive kitchen cabinets I get butterflies in my stomach. Then as I wash dishes in the sink I look out at the front yard and the fast growing bush under the window I get heart sick thinking about all of the good memories we have had here. Three of our four children where born while we lived here and grew up here. I mean how lucky are we to have family on the same street? We will always think of this place and time the most fondly. The Lord has truely blessed us!

Wishin, Hopin, Prayin

This might be our new place coming this October if all goes right with the bank. Finally, we would be able to stretch our legs and send the kids down stairs to play and be loud. Wade has already started practicing tellling to kids to "go downstairs and play". They just give him a funny look and go on screaming, but Wade says it is still satisfying to him.

Scarlet in church

She is a doll!  And lesson is kind of a snoozer.

Peach Days Parade

This years Peach Days was very busy for our little family. It started off with Wade running in the 12K race. Wade finished about the time he expected and actually won a price for guessing the time he would finish. Sheri and the kids came over in time for the parade. Silver brought a wagon and some ice and bottled water that he was planning on selling during the parade to earn money with which he wanted to buy a Batman costume. Silver was very successful. In fact he sold the 24 waters that he brought with him. Then he stopped by the Maverik and bought another 24 and more ice. He quickly sold all those waters and was turning people away by the time he had gotten back to where we were sitting. Although he was very shy at first, by the end, success had made him quite the town cryer as he walked up and down the street hollering "Ice cold water, 1$" - Very Cute. Lincoln rode on the float with Grampa Beatty and the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.

Thanks Wade

Well, here is my first blog. I know it's all the rage, that's probably why I haven't done it yet, but I know it would mean a lot to my husband. I think that he has created a really cool blog page. He probably picked the background with me in mind, I think it is just my style. I love Wade and think that he is so cool! That sounds a bit middle school, but I love him just like a new crush! (Ahhh...) Thanks Wade for making a cool place for our family to keep in touch with friends and family.

Silver first Day of 2nd Grade

It is amazing how fast they grow up. Silver's new teacher is Mr. Lowe (a friend of mine). Silver is so excited and loves his spiderman backpack.

Toilet papered - Dude I'm 30, and my oldest is 7

Sunday Morning we woke up to a mess in our front yard. Someone relived 1987 in my front yard by toilet papering everything. I have no clue who or why someone would do something so sophomoric 15 years after my last toilet papering adventure. Anyway, it was done well and they used two ply. There is a $5 reward for information leading to revenge.

A Weekend at the Cabin on Kolob

A few times a summer, we pack up nearly half the house and head up - literally - up 5000 feet to the top of Kolob mountain where Beatty family cabin sits nestled between the pines and quaky trees. It is 20 degrees cooler at that altitude and much nicer in the summer than the 105 degree days we deal with here in Utah Dixie.

Two weekends ago we rented a Yamaha Rhino and hooked up with my Mom and Dad and their new Rhino and went exploring all over Kolob. Liberty and Lincoln road in the back of mom and dads in a jump seat while Liberty was strapped down in her car seat in the bed of our matching. It was a little chilly but very beautiful and I think the kids enjoyed it.

Well, the week before I had been up to the cabin and set out a bunch of traps to catch some kind of animal that had made its home inside the cabin. When we entered the cabin I was expecting to catch a few little mice and a chipmunk. Surprisingly, all the traps were sprung, but only animal was caught. It actually had been caught twice. Once in a jaw trap. It been caught and then had chewed the tether that kept the jaw trap from moving. It then got caught in a live trap dragging the jaw trap the whole time.

That night we reset the traps. At 4AM Sheri wakes me up and asked me to go check out a noise. We caught another one. I safely released it outside, hopefully to be never be seen again.

By the way, it looks to be a Pack Rat (Wood Rat).

The rest of the weekend was spent playing on a huge swing that I attached an old milk crate to. The kids absolutely loved it. We also made swords and played pretend alot.
We especially enjoyed the fire in the new stove.

Eating breakfast in front of the fire was a real treat. We need to get back up to Kolob really soon.
